Our first Camp Out....

A few weekends ago we took our first camping trip. We went with our great friends Hollie and Travis and there little boy Gavin, who is just a little older than Makenzie. Our other good friends Mark and Kelly and their boy Grant came too. It was such an amazing time. Makenzie did so well! We shared Hollie and Travis's camper and put the kids in their pack n' plays in the middle. It was so awesome to be surronded by people you love and share some laughs surronded by this beautiful world God gave us. We all had dogs and they had the best time swimming and running.
We went hiking the next day to find a lake, but to no avail. It was fun anyways. Makenzie fell asleep on Drew's back in the backpack (way to go Drew for hiking with a 30 pound child on your back!!). It was a great time, we can't wait to do it again!

What keeps me going....

Today has been a particularly tough day. I just walked into my daugthers room and saw her sitting on her pillow (which she is in love with for the moment because I made her a new pillow case for it) and she was just reading a book to here "baby" pink bear. She looked up and me and said... "Thank you Momma" in her adorable, barely understandable voice to anyone but me. I almost started crying. When I look at her, I remember what it's all about.

What a Dad....

Makenzie and Drew have this amazing bond. He tries to have this serious skin, but with her, it all melts away. I love to see them together.

And so it begins....

It took me a while, but I gave in. Today I sit and fumble through my way of getting my first blog up and running. I hang my head and admit bashfully, why did I wait so long? Here is my way of opening up my life to those I love that just aren't close enough.
